The Fighting Irish have had a great season settling at 22-2. One of those loses was against the Sunnyside Christian Knights, who are also competing in the tournament. If the Fighting Irish pull through with a win tonight, they will compete against winner of #11 Orca’s Island v. #2 Sunnyside Christian game. If the Sunnyside Knights win tonight, they may compete against DeSales other tomorrow in the semifinals which may shake up to be a good game considering DeSales has beaten Sunnyside twice this season, 54-42 and 81-67; however, lost to Sunnyside 61-63 by a close margin just a few weeks ago.

The WIAA state high school basketball tournament kicked off with opening rounds on February 21 and semifinals beginning Thursday across the state. Semifinals will be held Friday, and finals on Saturday. Other classifications will be held at the Tacoma Dome and Yakima Valley SunDome, with 1B and 2B tourneys held locally at Spokane Arena.
