Helpful information for your Expo’23 experience

Expo'23 Novena for Eucharistic Revival

We invite you to join us in praying a novena for Eucharistic Revival in our diocese. The novena will begin on Friday, 9/1 and end on Saturday, 9/9. The prayers will be posted on Facebook/Instagram and emailed each morning leading up to the Expo.

Novenas are a prayer tradition rooted in Scripture, where the early church prayed for nine days, and on day ten, the Holy Spirit descended--Pentecost. This same tradition lives on and often leads up to liturgical feast days.

Pre-Event Eucharistic Procession

For those joining the Procession, Spokane PD requests that we gather on the north sidewalk of Riverside Ave. across from the Cathedral. Please retain a sacred silence and a prayerful disposition, as Jesus will be with us in the Eucharist.

The Main Event @ The Podium

Doors open at 2:00 p.m., with primary programming beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Podium facility is ADA-compliant. ADA entrance will be on Joe Albi Way (formally Dean Ave).

Post-Event Celebration

The celebration will follow adoration just below The Podium in Riverfront Park's North Bank. Free food is provided by Papa Murphy's and DeLeon's. Dinner will be picnic style, limited seating and tables will be available for those who need it. We will be feeding many people; please be patient.

What to bring - Clear Bag Policy

Since this is a "free ticketed event," a clear bag policy will be in effect. Please plan accordingly. Consider bringing Scripture and/or Rosary for prayer. A prayer guide will be provided as well in both English and Spanish.

Clear Bag Policy from The Podium website:

Guests may carry one clear plastic or vinyl bag no larger than 14" x 14" x 6". Small clutch bags no larger than 6.5″ x 4.5″ (does not have to be clear) or clear one-gallon zip-top storage bags are also permitted.

Backpacks and purses larger than 6.5″ x 4.5″ will not be permitted.

Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items and single-compartment diaper bags (child must be present).

How to dress

Jesus will be with us; why not wear your best if you can? If walking in the 1-mile Procession, please wear proper clothing and footwear. The weather forecast predicts a mostly sunny day with a high of 77 and a low of 51.

Ticketing and Admission

You will not be allowed to enter the Podium without your ticket. Ensure your ticket is on your phone or printed on paper.  If you have children, bring enough tickets for each person. Volunteers will be available to assist with any problems.

Family & Children

We encourage you to bring your whole family to Expo'23; Jesus desires to be with each of them! There will be a designated family area on the main floor of The Podium if the children need space or have difficulty sitting still in the event space. There will be screens streaming what is happening in the event area, so you will not miss a minute. During the post-event celebration, there is a generous playground at North Bank Riverfront Park for the children to enjoy.
