Watch 2 Spokane priests give talks at the SEEK24 Conference
Every January, thousands of college students, lay parishioners, priests, religious and seminarians gather for the SEEK conference hosted by the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, FOCUS. This year, the conference was held in St. Louis with nearly 24,000 attendees. Among those was a large group of students from Eastern Washington University, a handful of diocesan priests, seminarians, and various parishioners.
The days began with Mass with everyone in the stadium, men's and women’s sessions, and smaller breakout sessions with various popular Catholic speakers. The evenings consisted of keynote speakers to the liking of Fr. Mike Schmitz, Emily Wilson, Msgr. James Shea, Sr. Mary Grace SV, Chris Stefanick and more. After keynotes, some entertainment was offered, including a concert with Judah and the Lion.
Spokane priests Father Jeffrey Lewis, pastor at St. Mary, Spokane Valley, and Father Kyle Ratuiste, director of vocations, were asked to speak about their experiences of evangelization and living missionary discipleship where they serve in their priesthood. Father Lewis gave a keynote address to those of the ‘Making Missionary Disciples’ track for non-students living their faith in their neighborhoods and parishes. Father Ratuiste spoke about living missionary discipleship in the context of his vocation.
Next year, the conference will be hosted much closer to the diocese in Salt Lake City, Utah, from January 1 -5, 2025. It will now be a Wednesday through Sunday conference, so more can attend. All talks from SEEK24 are free to watch when you sign up at seekreplay.com or at the links below. More information about SEEK25 in Salt Lake City can be found at seek.focus.org
