Letter from the Editor - June 2023
Beloved readers,
It has been nearly a year since I sent a letter to this email list. If you recall, my last letter was an introduction to myself as the new diocesan Director of Catholic Media and Editor of Inland Catholic. I shared with you my vision for the magazine and the online versions of Inland Catholic.
Over the last year, I have had so much fun relaunching the magazine and building the new Inland Catholic website. I am pleased to say that the magazine really has fulfilled that vision of 100% local stories from local writers.
I am very excited to bring on two new writers for this next issue which will be printed in September. We are always looking for more talented writers to submit work, so please reach out if you are a writer. If you haven't read the current Pentecost 2023 issue, make sure to snag a copy at your parish or see it online at inlandcatholic.com
And to switch gears to my main concern:
I recognize that nearly 4,000 of you are on this email list [this message was written and sent to an Inland Catholic email list], and it mainly goes unused. Before my time here, this Flocknote group seemed to send you a digital copy of the magazine when it was published. That is now redundant since I already do that through the Diocesan Digest: the weekly email newsletter from the diocese that I send out every Friday morning. The Digest features Inland Catholic news, PR, upcoming events, and a prayer request---a "one-stop shop" of sorts.
For the sake of streamlined communication, please consider signing up for the Diocesan Digest with one click below (if you haven't already). Personally, I just want to make sure you're not left out of communications if you want it.
Finally, as the editor of Inland Catholic, I value feedback. So please feel free to respond to this [letter], with any thoughts, suggestions, tomato-throwing, good hiking spots, affirmations or what-have-you.
I hope you all have (and are having) a blessed summer,
In Christ,
Grant Whitty
Editor, Inland Catholic
