Holy Cross completes funeral home, open house next week

Holy Cross Funeral and Cemetery Services completed construction on the initial phase of their new funeral home at the end of April. The new building sits on the corner N. Division and W Rhoades and backs up to the east side of Holy Cross Cemetery.

Holy Cross hosted a soft opening and open house for Diocesan staff on April 25. Bishop Daly attended and blessed the building before it opened the following week. The building is the newest funeral home to be built in Spokane in nearly 20 years and the first Catholic funeral home. The building features on-site cremation and preparation services built around proper and holy Catholic burial. The project's second phase will include a chapel in the middle of the building’s two wings, offering comprehensive services for Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

Holy Cross will host open house hours over the long Memorial Day weekend. The various cemeteries in the Holy Cross network will also be celebrating Memorial Day Masses on the cemetery grounds.
